Today we took the train (light rail) into downtown. So different from our BART. It was $4.00 each, round trip. And there are no gates. Its on the honor system. They said a security person could ask for your ticket at any time and there are huge fines if you don't have a ticket, but we never saw any security or anyone asking for tickets. It was about a 30-40 minute ride because it stops about 15 times before we reached downtown. We took it to the end of the line to Target Stadium. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't find the Target Store. So we walked around downtown using the overhead enclosed pedestrian walkways. Because it can get very cold here you can walk miles without ever going outside. We found a Wells Fargo museum which was interesting. The lady asked us if we wanted our picture taken in the stagecoach. Sure, why not. Then she asked us if we wanted to feel what it felt like to ride in a stagecoach for 3 weeks. Sure, why not. Then the lady disappears and walks to the back and manually starts shaking the stagecoach. Tom and I were busting up because she had to stand there and push and pull and shake it, and when we had enough, she just kept right on going, wanting to give us the "full experience" of stagecoach riding. After about a minute, she stops and says, can you imagine riding 3 weeks in this thing. And, I said, "why, yes, I think we can imagine it now".
Next stop, the Gold Medal Flour Mill.
