Where is Nebraska anyway?

We started off exactly at noon.  There was 10 miles on the motor home.   All the other motorhomes  headed north or west, we headed west then south because I wanted to go to Nebraska so I could check that State off my list.

Saw the largest watering can.  I love this stuff!!

Had a wonderful lunch at Spirit Lake Iowa.  Just really enjoyed the moment.

This is about where things got dicey.

We headed for Sioux City per the map to stop for the night.    Tom and I switched drivers and I was driving .   Here is how the conversation went:   Hint - these were our first tense moments....
Gay -what State is Sioux City in?   It was hard to tell from the map
Tom - its in Iowa
Gay - well we need to cross a bridge or something, to get to Nebraska.
Tom - We need to go south, because Sioux City is in South Dakota
Gay - I thought you said it was in Iowa,
Tom - Well, it was.............
Gay - Do you think they moved it?
Tom - stop talking, this is confusing.
Silence as miles of roadway pass by.  Luckily, traffic was on the light side.

Gay - we are coming to a turn off.  Which way to I go?
Tom, - It seems like Sioux City covers Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota.   We have to cross the bridge.
Gay - (I knew there was a bridge in there somewhere)     What Bridge?
Tom - Over the Missouri River.
Then we will be in Nebraska, I think....
Gay - Oh, for heavens sake,  where in the heck are we.
Tom - I don't know   The GPS says we  need to go north into South Dakota. towards North Sioux City.    South Sioux City is too far west.

At this point, I just followed the highway signs.

We covered Iowa, Nebraska, Iowa again, and ended up in South  Dakota for the night,, where we enjoyed nice salads for dinner, did laundry, took hot showers and are ready to settle in for the night and its only 8:00.    Tomorrow should be better,  We head straight up highway 29 to Fargo North Dakota.   We don't need to go on any other highway.   Only one.     Its a straight shot.   How hard can it be????

Uh-oh, sounds like your trip might take longer than you thought. The navigational exchange sounds very familiar. Um, you didn't have much to say about Nebraska. Were you being polite?

Not much in Nebraska. My goal was to stop and haave a Ohmaha Nebraska Steak. But, sometimes, you just have to let it go. Not much in the area we were in, but we weren't in it for long. We were tired and just wanted to get to the campground. Hopefully tomorrow will be an easier route.

ahhh, I am sorry that you missed that Omaha steak, not that it tasted any different than the CA steak we buy at Safeway.......... I know how "good" you are at directions, thank goodness there are signs to guide you otherwise you might be in Florida !!! love ya.
