We are in Canada now

Well,  we have very slow internet, so I can download any pictures.
We left Minnesota, drove through North Dakota.  At one point, I stood on a bridge with one foot in Minnesota and one foot in North Dakota. We then headed up  to Winnipeg, Manitoba.  When we crossed from US to Canada, we had to surrender our Pepper Spray to the Crown.   NO OFFENTIVE WEAPONS ALLOWED, he told us but we could bring in BEAR SPRAY if we wanted to.   Bear Spray is in a much larger can, and the same stuff but not to be used on humans.   Well OK,   I get it.

From there, we headed West, finally.   We drove towards Brandon, (thinking of my son-in-law) but we got there about 4:00 and I was not ready to stop driving yet, so we kept going.

Tomorrow, we want to head to Grenfell where my grandfather was born, then on to Regina, Saskatchewan, where my mother was born.   Today, we pulled off in Elkhorn, Manitoba, towards a campground   When we pulled in, it was actually sitting on a cemetery, the two other campers there were 10 feet from the graves.   We took a drive through, but decided to head on further down the road.   I could only imagine the dreams I would have tonight.  We crossed from Manitoba into Saskatchewan and stopped at the Visitor Center along the Highway, and the lady suggest the Fieldstone Campground.   We stopped here and it is a very rustic, nice place.

It has a lake during the summer, but it has not yet been filled yet.   So we are off in the woods, with no hookups.  We made a nice dinner, and walked to the office to get WiFi.    Tom is talking to the owners.  The internet is so slow, we have been here 1/2 hour just to type this little bit.
