Meet Minnie Winnie

Meet Winnie.   We arrived last night around 8:15 and the Alaskan Holiday people were here to meet us and welcome everyone.   The bus ride through the Minnesota and Iowa country was beautiful.  Flat, but beautiful. Weather was about  65 and sunny.  I loved every minute of watching the beautiful  large, humongous homes on tons of acrerage fly by.

Winnie has about 100 brothers and sisters.   Anywhere from 22 to 33 feet with different side pop outs.  Ours has a dinning room popout which gives the inside area much more room.

The bedroom is in the back with a queen bed.   Bathroom behind the mirror, complete with shower, toilet and sink.  It is a pretty good size.

Had a few electrical issues last night so we had 3 Winnebago men in our bedroom trying to figure out what was wrong.   They think they got it fixed.  Everything seemed to work fine for the rest of the night.
After we got things settled, they said there was a mini mart/gas station down the road.  So at 9:45 Tom and I walked about 1\2  mile along this 2 lane road by ourselves, with only the occasional street light lighting the way.  As we approached the mini-mart, he says to me "this looks like something out of a Stephen King movie".  Thank you Mr. Burkett for putting those thoughts in my head.  There were two young men working in the store, and one smoking outside standing beside a car.   Everyone smokes here.    We wondered if we went into the store, if we might never come out.   Wild imaginations at work in full swing.  We made it home fine and ate our sandwiches at 10:15 at night.

Our orientation is at 10:40 and after that, we can hit the road.  I am so anxious to get going.   They offered a nice continental breakfast, bagels, yogurt, juices, tea and coffee.  Unit has a TV and nice Jensen stereo system that glows blue all night.  I asked the Winnebago man how to turn that off and he said "you can't" so I will have to place a washcloth over it because when the lights are all out, there is an eerie blue glow and I feel like I am in a weird dream or Disneyland ride.

Well, I can now cross Iowa off my list of States that I have visited.  We should hit Nebraska and South Dakota today as well.  Three States in one day.

Also, I can add to my list:
the most Winnebago's in one place

WiFi is spotty here, so depending on where we end up tonight, I may not be able to blog.  Feel free to comment on my blog.  I love hearing from you.   Tom is outside visiting with our neighbors, talking "Motorhome".

Let the Adventure continue.

well, looks like you are finally on your way. The motorhome looks very nice and roomy. We were thinking of you out in the desolate Iowa roads as we were skimming across Monterey Bay.
