Wednesdays, weather permitting, they have a music jamb. Basically, 5 men in their 60's each taking turns singing songs I haave never heard of, but all 8 of us in our lawn chairs clap away and then I find out the women in the audience are their wives, or sister, and they all live at this RV Park and were so happy to have me (Tom didn''t go) listening to them perform. I think they performed extra long just for me. I finally excused myself after 1 1/2 hours. Enough is enough.
We drove from Moosomin through Grenfell, an went looking for my grandfather's relatives in the cemetery
This was the road out to the cemetery. I knew it had to be in that clump of trees.
I thought this might be one of our relatives. We have to check with my Cousin Ben when we get to Edmonton. I thought I remembered seeing a Koch listed somewhere in the genealogy papers.
It was a beautiful day and needless to say we were the only ones around.
We then heading for Regina, but saw a cute town that had a swinging bridge so decided to go see it . We took a selffie there.
It takes about 10 minutes to download one picture. I will never complain about our slow internet again.
We made it to Regina where my mother was born and found the street the house was on but it was long gone, and there was an apartment there. We drove down it twice and i thought of my mother growing up in the area. Of course it is a really big City now, and things are different, but I had a touch of nostalgia thinking of her. Wish I was able to talk to her about that a little more.
Driving a big motor home though a city is challenging, but we did it, right during the start of commute time (3:00 ish) I was doing the driving, and Tom was my spotter. We make a great team.
We then headed to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. These names are fun to say. Saskatoon was a larger city as well,, but we navigated through it and came out the other end thinking we were ready to stop for the night.
The Internet was so spotty last night,, I got up this morning to finish this blog. We don't know what time it is because we turned our cell data off and it does not update. We were two hours ahead, but then when we stopped at a visitor center, the lady said when we crossed from Manitoba to Saskathwean, we gained an hour. This computer says is 8:33, my cell phone says 7:33, my Kindle says 6:33 and the motor home radio says 9:11. So not sure what time it is, but I don't All is good.
